No new taxes! That is the word from the government for the new fiscal year which begins on April one. Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr. Nigel Clarke, who opened the 2021/2022 budget debate in Gordon House on Tuesday, March 9 says the public should not expect any new taxes for the fourth consecutive year.
The drumming sound from the parliamentarians’ hands striking the desks was seemingly a common feature throughout minister of Nigel Clarke’s presentation as he opened the debate in the house on Tuesday.
Minister Clarke announced that for the fourth consecutive fiscal year there will be no new taxes.
The government also announced that effective April one, those applying to the Student Loan Bureau will only need one guarantor to make access to funding for education easier.
