New date set for Grade Six students: Speaking at the Post Cabinet briefing on Wednesday, Education Minister Fayval Williams announced new adjustments to the Primary Exit Program (PEP) examinations. The Minister says students will only be required to sit the ability test which was originally scheduled for March 25 of this year. The new date is set for May 26, 2021.
She notes the results from the ability test will be paired with the results of the Grade Four Performance Task in 2019 which will determine the placements for secondary schools.
Concerns were also raised regarding areas of the curriculum that were not covered. The Minister indicated that diagnostic tests will be conducted and sent to secondary schools.
