Clarendonians encouraged to take vaccine: Health Officials in Clarendon are encouraging citizens to take the jab, for them vaccines are the country’s best shot at beating the deadly virus.
Medical Officer of Health in Clarendon, Kimberley Scarlett Campbell tells CVM Live that Clarendon received about 1500 vaccines to kick start the vaccination process.
CEO of May Pen Hospital, St. Andrade Sinclair was the first to be vaccinated in the parish.
Clarendon recorded the country’s first death to the coronavirus crisis, and two communities in the parish Corn Piece Settlement and Sandy Bay were placed under quarantine in the early stages of the pandemic.
And as some Jamaicans question the threat of the virus, Dr Ruel Saunders says the virus is as real as the consequences.
The Medical Officer of Health says so far the response from citizens have been positive.
At March 11, Clarendon recorded 1299 cases of the virus and 22 deaths.
