The AstraZeneca vaccines continue to spark debate among skeptics this as more European and African countries have suspended the use of the vaccine. However, some local medical practitioners do not believe there is a need for concern.
Vials of AstraZeneca vaccines have reached Jamaica’s ports and vaccination is already underway. However, the arguments against these vaccines continue to be voiced in the streets with concerned citizens questioning the safety of these solutions.
Potent solutions expected to cease the transmission of the virus that has paused the world and caused the demise of millions.
However, vaccine efficacy is not the only thing some Jamaicans are concerned with. Beyond, the Jamaican shores few countries within Europe have suspended the British Swedish branded vaccine claiming the side effects may cause fatal blood clots.
Recent countries joining the growing list include Germany, France, Spain and Italy. The world health organization says there is no evidence of a link between blood clots and the vaccines.
These stories however have the potential to strike fear into many linings up to take the jabs. Dr. Garth Rattray, a family practitioner for more than forty years says the news of fatal blood clots is not applicable to Jamaicans.
