While many Jamaicans flock to supermarkets to secure food for the easter weekend lockdown, market vendors at the Musgrave market in Port Antonio, Portland say they are not realizing the easter sales.
They say despite a drastic reduction in the amount of goods they bring to the market sales remain low.
Another vendor who was allegedly involved in the Portland crash that claimed the lives of 14 vendors in December 2008 , says business has been bad.
She’s not alone, other vendors in agreement are calling for government intervention.
Markets will be opened on Saturday morning ahead of the midday lockdown that extends until Tuesday, April 6 at 5 a.m.
