There are almost 5,000 children between the ages of 0-18 in state care in Jamaica. However, according to a recently released report from Think Tank CAPRI, titled the ‘Governance and Accountability of State Care for Children in Jamaica’.
The conditions in too many of the nation’s residential facilities are substandard and are not serving the best interests of the children; leading to poor development outcomes. To discuss the findings and implications of the report we are joined by the Director of Advocacy at CAPRI, Dr. Leanne Levers and Betty Ann Blaine of hear the children’s cry.
