Jamaica is sending help to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Tents, portaloos, food and most importantly water have already been packed into the hull of the ship and shut away leaving space on the deck for what is left to be taken to St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday morning.
Minister Responsible for the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, Desmond McKenzie was grateful for the combined effort of the Jamaican populous who have stood by the country in its time of crisis.
The contribution came from many industries and ministries islandwide in collaboration with the Kingston Wharves who made its ports accessible to dock the Bahamian ship.
McKenzie says not only did industries and ministries host drives to contribute to the relief programme but they also dug into their own resources.
