Heavy showers and thunderstorms associated with Tropical Storm Elsa, on Sunday, July 4, 2021, impacted several roads within the corporate area.
Marcus Garvey Drive, Spanish Town Road, Cross Roads, and many others were all rendered impassable and scores of citizens were flooded out.
Residents of Riverside Gardens in the community of New Haven were one set of citizens that were affected after the heavy rains led to the overflowing of the Duhaney River.
Residents complained that this has been an issue since last year’s heavy downpour, however, the People’s National Party (PNP) Councilor Candidate for the Duhaney Park Division said, that in comparison to what the effects would have been in the past, this can be a positive outlook.
