Opposition Leader Mark Golding addressed the People’s National Party (PNP) supporters in Portland at the Boundbrook Infant School, days before Friday, July 16, nomination and resignations.
Minister Golding says it is time for the People’s National Party to shift to high gear as there is work to be done and that Jamaica needs to see the Comrades once again revitalized.
He noted his support for the delay of the Local Government election and denounced the use of State of Emergencies (SOES) and Zones of Special Operations (ZOSOS) to fight crime.
He says education is needed, as the human resource is Jamaica’s best resource.
The Minister addressed many concerns including crime and education.
He said these two elements are linked and that the Government needs to make this a priority in the interest of the country’s development.
He says though secondary and tertiary education needs reformation; the foundation is the primary problem that needs to be tackled to ensure every child in the country has a fair opportunity to attend a traditional high school.
The Opposition Minister says he is in no position not to benefit from the country but to give back, and he needs the Comrades to be ready.
