People’s National Party (PNP) activists, Karen Cross, and Natalee Stack the women who are known to have shone light on sexual allegations of General Secretary for the PNP party Dayton Campbell were found guilty of contempt of court.
The PNP Activists were ordered to pay $750,000 each or spend six months in prison at the Supreme Court on Thursday, July 22.
Cross says she never in a million years expected the judgment to be so harsh.
Additionally, Cross says she misunderstood the terms and conditions of Campbell’s injunction.
The PNP activist says she would never think that her “freedom of speech was so unimportant in a so-called democracy.”
Cross says she believes an example is being made of her.
Meanwhile, Cross says there will be an appeal. However, she believes she should be the martyr to represent all the poor people who have fallen victim to the legal system.
