Farmers and Fishers are being advised, by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries that they are essential workers, therefore they will remain operational on the no movement days and under the new curfew orders, which will take effect on Sunday, August 22. The newly imposed measures were announced by Prime Minister Andrew Holness on Thursday, August 19.
Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Hon. Floyd Green, says farmers and fishers who are registered with the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) and the National Fisheries Authority (NFA) should ensure that they have their IDs to present to the authorities while they carry out their work duties on the no movement days.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness also made mention of new curfew hours. And noted that the seven no movement days are as follow: August 22 -24, August 29 -31, and September 5. The Prime Minister also announced that gathering remains at 10 persons and listed few more adjustments to the measurments.
