Christel House International is a charity group that focuses on creating change by giving impoverished children access to education. The school being constructed in St. Catherine is the eighth of such schools built by the organization.
According to Joe Schneider, a representative from Christel House one hundred and eighty students will be enrolled in the first year of operation. In addition to that, he notes that the school’s curriculum will reflect that of the local education system. He, however, says the great focus will be put on ensuring that children are exposed to the character and leadership development.
Dr. Karl Samuda says he welcomes the project as sustainable growth for Jamaica is attainable by educating citizens.
Christel House has established schools in a number of countries, including, India, the United States, South Africa, and Mexico.
