Vendors plying their wares along Beckford Street in Downtown Kingston are staying in their lane in the busy market district following the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation’s (KSAMC) guidelines. These guidelines highlight the safe vending zones in an effort to set boundaries and accommodate vehicular traffic.

Those who are found in breach of the rules risk having their goods confiscated. Some vendors do not have stalls, and instead, sell above ground from ropes. But, as one vendor shares the boundaries extend upward too.

What was once impassable is now able to accommodate better security for shoppers and vendors. Although some vendors have mixed reviews on the new policy, some are pleased with the order.
