Modified bike and car mufflers have become increasingly annoying with one local representative calling for the traffic authorities to act now. Head of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), Assistant Commissioner of Police Gary Mckenzie, says, the noise nuisance complaints are getting louder and more frequent and already the police are making strides in abating the scourge. The COVID-19 pandemic has seemingly added to a proliferation of bikes, many of them ‘yeng yengs’ used for food deliveries.
But, some of these delivery men are also being slammed for modifying their mufflers to imitate the sound of gunfire; a constant noise nuisance, given they are allowed to operate during the curfew hours. More details here:
