No more curfew as measures under the Disaster Risk Management Act, effective Friday, March 18, 2022. Some measures will however continue under the Public Health Act including mask-wearing in enclosed spaces. Prime Minister Andrew Holness outlined the revised strategy during his budget presentation this afternoon. While stressing that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, He reminds citizens that risks still remain, therefore continued vigilance is necessary, especially for the vulnerable population. Holness says the government has decided to retain the requirement for travelers to obtain a COVI-19 test 3 days before coming to Jamaica, until April 15.
He notes that certain restrictions applicable to nursing homes, hospitals, infirmaries, and correctional facilities will become matters of policy at the level of the Health Ministry, the Ministry of Local Government, and the Ministry of National Security where applicable.
