The latest find of the narcotics trafficking that has been taking place between St. Thomas and Kingston; 715 pounds of marijuana with a street value of almost 5 million Jamaican Dollars or US$30,000. The Sub Officer in charge of operations for the marine division details the events leading to the drug bust. Insp. White also notes that the marine police have been making great strides in recovering vessels, noting that in the last 3 to 4 years; more than 50 have been recovered across the island and in international waters.
He says drug traffickers and those involved in the guns-for-drugs trade have tried to outsmart the police; however he asserts that this is all in vain.
