One stakeholder in the education sector is expressing concerns over the recent spike in Covid-19 cases causing some schools to close their doors and revert to online learning.

She’s calling on a thorough assessment to be done. President of the National Parent Teacher Association of Jamaica Mitzie Dillon Harris says there are mounting concerns regarding the recent spike in Covid-19 cases and the resultant closure of some schools which had an outbreak.

She notes the recent uptick calls for an evaluation of the approach towards navigating students. Mrs. Dillon-Harris suggests that should Jamaica continue on its current trajectory, students will be at risk. She adds that while business establishments are still observing the protocols, the nation at large must also take precautions.
