A second Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus has been destroyed by fire in recent months. The latest incident has left stakeholders concerned about the current state of the fleet. While the JUTC investigates the cause of this latest incident, they assure its business as usual for commuters.
Meanwhile, Opposition Spokesperson on Transport Mikael Phillips is raising concerns surrounding the JUTC. He stresses that there is a great need for expansion in the company; and urges proper management and maintenance of the buses from the government to ensure there are enough seats to carry members of the travelling public.
JUTC anticipates the arrival of fifty new buses to its fleet of 250. Watch the report below:
