The Prime Minister says for 2020, the Government will be building on the successes of the past year, instead of dwelling on failures.
Speaking at the Annual General Meeting of the the Ministry of Economic, Growth & Job Creation, he encouraged the agencies to capitalize on their failures and aim to achieve sustainable development for the country.
According to the Prime Minister Jamaica’s challenge is economic growth.
Nonetheless he notes that the country is on a growth trajectory for sustainable development, though not consistently.
In addition, Holness says that more value needs to be placed on the greatest natural resource, the people.
He notes that growth is a priority for his administration. He spoke to the most recent development.
Holness says corruption within government agencies is being treated as a threat to growth.
He says overtime a performance based system will be implemented for permanent secretaries and ministers.
