In a bid to catch criminals migrating from parishes with high crime rates, the Portland police were out in their numbers on an operation at the border of St. Mary and Portland.  Not only were tickets issued and searches conducted, but persons were detained. Deputy Superintendent of Police Velonique Campbell explains this initiative is geared towards border security a means by which the police could better spot criminals migrating from other parishes.  She notes since the start of the operation, a few persons have so far been detained.

The two men who have been detained will be processed by the police. DSP Campbell is also appealing to citizens to cooperate with them.
