Opposition Senator Donna Scott-Mottley is raising concerns about the mass migration of Jamaicans seeking jobs overseas. She contends that remittances are being used to stabilize the economy. Speaking at a People’s National Party (PNP) conference in North East Manchester recently, the Opposition Spokesperson for Information and Justice, Senator Donna Scott-Mottley chided the government about the state of the economy, noting that many Jamaicans are actively considering migrating abroad. The senator did however admit that remittances may be keeping the economy afloat. Senator Scott-Mottley says she is optimistic that the party can win the upcoming local government elections. She is also welcoming the prospect of a female member of the People’s National Party representing North East Manchester for the first time.
