The St Catherine police are carrying out an investigation for the murder of a pump attendant in the parish on Tuesday. Senior Superintendent of Police Christopher Phillips, says there has been significant progress.
31-year-old Chevelle Lewis, a pump attendant at the Petcom service station in Passage Fort, St Catherine, was brutally murdered while on duty. Reports are that at about 4:20 pm, Lewis was serving petrol to a customer when marauding gunmen traveling on a motorcycle shot her several times in the upper body.
Commanding Officer for St Catherine South Division, Senior Superintendent (SSP) Christopher Phillips, confirms that the murder was a hit, ignited by gang conflict. While condemning crime and violence in the parish, Senior Superintendent Phillips is calling on residents to lend their support to the police. He’s further appealing to any eyewitness with information about the killing to contact the police, as they continue to seek justice for the family. Watch the full report:
