The National Arena erupted as several high-ranking party members chastised the government for its alleged mishandling of the country’s affairs. From education to public sector restructuring, the executive took the government to task.
People’s National Party’s (PNP) General Secretary Dr. Dayton Campbell sought to clarify claims of similarity between the PNP and any other Jamaican political party. His comments seemed well received by the flood of supporters in orange, who crammed the Arena. Many were likewise in agreement with the former Prime Minister, P.J Patterson’s remarks on the country’s bid to become a republic.
Meanwhile, Opposition Spokesman on Education, Damion Crawford lamented the importance of men receiving paternity leave and its possible benefit for working Jamaicans. Senator Crawford says the party’s next manifesto will ensure teachers, children, youth, police, and women’s needs are not overlooked.
