The keys to the city of Montego Bay were handed over to Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie, Emperor Haile Selassie’s Grandson, on Saturday. Several members of the Rastafarian community were present. Speaking at the ceremony at the St James Municipal Corporation Saturday, Mayor Leeroy Williams praised Rastafarians for their contribution to Jamaica’s culture. Mayor of Montego Bay, Leeroy Williams, says the key was given to the prince for his outstanding contribution to the educational and humanitarian development of the people. 

Culture Minister, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange in her welcoming message described it as a historic day for Rastas in Western Jamaica. After expressing gratitude to the officials for their warm welcome,  Prince Selassie commended the members of the Rastafarian community.
