Director General of the Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), Dr Wayne Henry, is urging development practitioners to approach community renewal. Additionally, work in the social sector should be aligned to a coherent and effectively coordinated framework that would deliver social interventions and investments to renew communities.

He was setting the context for the seventh renewal of the symposium of best practices in social and community development in Kingston. The 7th staging of the annual best practices symposium was directed at addressing the multiplicity of challenges that often plague volatile and vulnerable communities.

Dr. Henry, says the agency is focused on two primary approaches to highlight and encourage the use of best practices. He is urging citizens to respond to the call to action around these defined solutions.
