Opposition Spokesman on Transport and works Mikael Phillips says he doesn’t support some of the protestors’ actions, following the latest transport sector strike for another ticket amnesty. However, Phillips lays the blame at the feet of the Government of Jamaica, for their alleged lack of effort in dealing with the operators’ issues.
‘The state of public transport is in crisis, as he describes the ticketing system as “broken”. Phillips says, there needs to be a greater effort by the administration in dealing with the long-standing issues plaguing operators. He adds the sector has been brought to its knees because of failure on the government’s part in not implementing effective policies.
