Four armed suspects on the run – another heist caught on camera in Mandeville, Manchester shows criminals holding hostage a group of people at a JN Money shop before making off with approximately 8 million dollars. The four suspects remain at large.
There’ve been at least three more heists since. The latest of which unfolded sometime after 9 Thursday morning at a JN money shop on Manchester Road in Mandeville.
In that incident, it is understood four men armed and bent on securing millions entered the remittance outlet, held up workers, and demanded cash. Their demands in part were caught on CCTV. The footage lasting just over a minute shows a male and female employee being searched and ordered around the office at gunpoint by criminals who hid their faces under surgical masks.
The brazen and unfortunate encounter left workers with their hands and hearts in the air, visibly shaken. One gunman stood guard, another ordered employees around, and the third emptied the cash registers. There was no sight of the fourth.
Eventually, having secured at least 8 million dollars the men then made their escape. The remittance outlet which is located close to the Mandeville Town Centre has since been closed for the day. The incident that sent chills down the spines of many who watched on social media was met with gratitude as onlookers welcome the fact that no one was killed. Others however note it as a sad day for the way Jamaicans transact business and operate in a cash-heavy society.
