Despite the agreement last year regarding compensation for public sector workers, the President of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU), Helene Davis-Whyte, says the government has disregarded some agreed terms. Intent on resolving the myriad issues, the union met with the Ministry of Finance recently, but was left with more questions than answers.

Much discontent lingers in the public sector as members insist the Ministry of Finance has neglected their agreements and their needs. The workers, having grown restive, mandated recently that the JCTU demand a meeting with the government to iron out the concerns. The President of JCTU says the Ministry yielded to that request, but the meeting bore no fruit. Watch the report:
