“It’s time for me to stand up and be counted,” said Hugh Johnson former President of the Small Business Association of Jamaica. Johnson indicated he will enter representational politics in the next general elections, where he will contest two-term Members of Parliament for North West St. Catherine Dr. Christopher Tufton.
Former President of the Small Business Association of Jamaica, Hugh Johnson is positioning himself to take on representational politics. Speaking with CVM LIVE on Monday, Johnson affirmed that he will most definitely be on the ballot for the next general elections.
Where he will rival the Jamaica Labour Party’s, JLP, member of parliament for northwest St. Catherine Dr. Christopher Tufton. Tufton has been the Member of Parliament for the constituency since 2016 after defeating the PNP’s Clinton Clarke. He indicates the constituency is currently underdeveloped, noting there’s a lack of employment opportunities for residents. Johnson says his knowledge of the business will serve as a booster for the constituency. Watch the report:
