Committed to improving the well-being of Jamaica’s youth, the Valda Hope Foundation operates as a nonprofit entity. Their central objective revolves around equipping young individuals with the necessary tools and resources to achieve their educational goals and fulfill their lifelong aspirations. Joining us on Sunrise, Dr. Kimberly Salmon, the founder of The Valda Hope Foundation, shares insights into this mission and more.

Since 2018, The Valda Hope Foundation has successfully organized a charity auction where individuals bid on prizes, and the funds raised are directed toward children in need. In March 2023, they managed to generate 1.5 million dollars to further their mission. Even amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation continued its efforts. Instead of holding an award ceremony, they visited children at their homes and distributed the accumulated prizes to them.

Recognizing that the Ocho Rios High School received a substantial number of applications, the foundation contributed by establishing computer labs in the school, thereby extending their impact on a broader scale. Those interested in supporting the Valda Hope Foundation can make donations through their website at ValdaHopeFoundation.org, where various payment methods are available for selection.
