In the aftermath of a recent tropical cyclone that ravaged sections of Jamaica, the incurred damages have resulted in an estimated bill of $409 million. Prime Minister Andrew Holness acknowledges the significant resources needed to rectify this damage. To aid in this effort, $1.4 billion has been earmarked for the Constituency-Based Mitigation and Cleanup Programme. This allocation means each of the country’s 63 Members of Parliament will have access to $22 million to support recovery efforts in their respective areas. Watch the report:
