On the heels of international women’s day held under the theme “each for equal”, the status of women in positions of political leadership in Jamaica has come under the microscope. With Jamaica’s national gender policy targeting 30% women in decision making positions how far behind those targets are we? And what is being done to tackle the institutionalized gender inequality in politics?
To discuss these issues and more we are joined by Imani Duncan Price Young Global Leader, World Economic Forum, she is also the Peoples National Party Caretaker for Central Kingston, youth advocate Ayesha Constable and Christopher Charles Professor Of Political and Social Psychology at the University of the West Indies, CVM LIVE political contributor. Thank you both for joining us. Ahead of our discussion a member of the public provides a perspective.
