Mayor of Montego Bay, Richard Vernon, has condemned Thursday’s killing of 18-year-old Dimmere Salmon. Reports suggest that around 7 p.m., Salmon and several others were along Hart Street in the vicinity of Foreigners Restaurant when unknown assailants pounced upon them and opened gunfire. Salmon was reportedly shot in the abdomen, another man was shot in the back, while another was injured while escaping. Salmon was pronounced dead on arrival at the Cornwall Regional Hospital, and the other men are being treated.
