Funerals have seemingly become another victim of the coronavirus, COVID-19. Since the outbreak, families say they have not been able to respectfully say their last goodbyes to their loved ones.
The emotional support and large gatherings have been lost to mask-wearing and social distancing to prevent any spike in COVID -19 cases.
Registrar Generals Department, CEO Charlton Macfarlane says there has been a minor reduction in the number of deaths registered and the burial orders issued from March 1 to July 16 2020 compared to a similar period last year.
Death certificates processed were also down for the period.
