The leaders of the two main political parties today sounded off on the significance of the Jamaicans going to the polls in another two weeks in the midst of a public health and economic crisis. The Prime Minister is telling Jamaicans to vote for the party better suited to manage expected and unexpected shocks while the Opposition Leader is touting his plans for the new Jamaica.
The 18th General Election since 1944 will be significant for several reasons. For one it’s the first to be held during a pandemic and the winning party will be tasked with charting the course towards economic recovery with bleak days on the horizon over the next two years.
