Polls talk in the PNP’S Presidential Race- As the People’s National Party’s Presidential (PNP) Election Day approaches, public opinion polls are being conducted, with an aim to gauge the mood of the nation as to which candidate they prefer.
Mark Golding and Lisa Hanna are vying to be the 6th president of the 82-year-old political organization. According to a statement from Hanna’s team, the results of a poll conducted by Blue Dot insights, shows her easily defeating Mark Golding on three key points: favorability with the national electorate; the ability to commandeer the youth vote; and the ability to beat Andrew Holness.
The poll is expected to show that Hanna trounces Golding with double-digit leads. And according to Hanna’s campaign spokesperson, Senator Donna Scott Mottley, this does not come as a surprise…
The findings of that poll are to be released on Monday, November 2, 2020. Meanwhile in another poll, the Don Anderson Poll, Golding has seemingly closed the popularity gap in the PNP leadership race.
The poll commissioned by the Golding camp conducted between October 24 and 28, indicates that 46 percent of the respondents say Golding is best suited to lead the social-democratic political party, PNP while Hanna received 45.3 percent.
1,077 persons were surveyed in all parishes with a margin of error of plus or minus three per cent. Over 3000 PNP delegates will vote for their sixth president on November 7.
