Five persons were shot, three fatally, in Effortville, Clarendon on Wednesday night.
Reports from the Clarendon police are that in the first incident, three gunmen approached three men asking about a stolen motorcycle.
The men were then reportedly told to walk ahead of the gunmen, who then opened fire hitting two of them, they later died.
One of the men managed to escape unharmed.
The gunmen then proceeded to rob several persons at their gates.
Superintendent of Police, Christopher Phillips who heads operations in the parish spoke to our news team. He describes the situation as outrageous.
In the second incident, the gunmen signaled for a motor vehicle to stop, when the driver did not they opened fire at the vehicle. A woman said to be six months pregnant and a man were injured in that incident.
The police say children in the vehicle sustained no injuries.
The Clarendon police are urging residents in the community to share information that could assist in the investigation.
The parish has seen a spate of murders in the past two weeks.
