Opposition urges Gov’t to be Cautious of the new COVID-19 variant in Jamaica- Even as vaccines are being rolled out across the world, the infection rates are climbing. The opposition finds the rising COVID-19 infection rate alarming as the majority of the hospitals in the western end of the island are on the brink of being overrun.
And there is another worrying development as concerns are being raised about the effectiveness of the vaccines against the new variant of the virus.
Shadow spokesperson on Health, Dr. Morais Guy is raising a red flag. Dr. Guy says it is also concerning that up to 40 other countries have recorded cases of the new variant.
