Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Government member and St Andrew east rural MP, Juliet Holness says she’ll not be apologizing for her verbal attack of the PAC Chairman, Julian Robinson during Tuesday’s sitting.
She says she’s of the view it was the chairman who should apologize for what she considers his devious actions.
The fiery exchange saw an annoyed Mrs Holness taking the chairman to task for what she considered his misunderstanding of a delayed response to an email seeking approval to invite auditors to the sitting with the Labour and Social Security Ministry
The exchange saw Mrs Holness storming out of the sitting briefly after issuing a stern warning to the chairman.
An incensed Juliet Holness chastised the PAC Chairman for his role in providing information to the media that allegedly sought to put government members of the PAC in a negative light. This as the chairman opted to invite auditors to a crucial sitting with representatives of the Labour and Social Security Ministry.
Holness was busy tending to work at her constituency office, she says the media should also be held accountable for stoking controversy regarding the role and expectations of the government members overtime.
She says should the chairman attempt a similar act she’ll resort to the standing orders which would require consensus a week prior.
