Can one who was infected before, be re-infected with the virus?

When it comes to COVID-19, much remains unknown. A few persons say they have contracted the virus twice and in short succession. According to the United States of America’s Centres For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC), re-infection  means a person was infected once, recovered, and then later became infected again

A Jamaican national living in the U.S. says this was her experience.  National Epidemiologist, Dr. Karen Webster Kerr says, there have been no confirmed cases of re-infection in Jamaica, to date. She however sought to explain the role testing plays in determining a re-infection.
