Medical experts and members of the business community have been reacting to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases that has brought on tighter curfew hours for all parishes.
A measure that will no doubt slow down economic activity, however it is being deemed necessary, as hospitals island-wide are showing significant occupancy levels.
If the surge is not contained, then naturally there will be an increase in hospitalization with more severe cases.
President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, Keith Duncan, while supporting the move, says there could be a reversal to recent economic gains and recovery of jobs.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, Larry Watson is imploring Jamaicans to get inoculated once the vaccines become available.
