Fourteen Jamaicans have been honored with the 2023 Chevening scholarships for postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom. Chosen meticulously from a competitive cohort of 65 finalists, these scholars were selected from over 300 potential candidates. Chevening, a prestigious UK government initiative nurturing global leaders, provides a unique platform for upcoming influencers to advance professionally and academically while fostering lasting connections and cultural exposure in the UK. The 2023 awards mark the 40th anniversary of this program. Dr. Samantha Johnson, a medical doctor, and Major Raymond Warren, Detachment Commander at the Command & Staff School of Caribbean Military Academy, who are recipients of this year’s cohort shared their insights regarding the profound impact of the scholarship on their lives.
