The Advocates Network, alongside the Jamaican Association for Debating and Empowerment (JADE) Limited, announced the launch of their #AFiWiRepublic Secondary Schools’ Debate Competition 2023. The launch was held on July 3 at the University of Technology. Founder and Executive Director of JADE, Germaine Barrett, stopped by to share with us the significance of this upcoming debate competition which will see eight weeks of debate with the participation of 28-32 schools from across the island. The competition will commence with zonal matches from July 17- 19 and will culminate with the 3rd place playoff and grand finals on August 10.
