The Ministry of Health and Wellness in collaboration with the American Friends of Jamaica has launched a maternal health programme to improve service across the public health system and respond to the needs of vulnerable mothers.
Under the auspices of the Minister of State, the Hon. Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, OD, MP, the maternal health initiative will see improved diagnostic services across public health facilities through use of modern, state-of-the-art ultrasound technology; specialized training for healthcare providers; and provision of care supplies for newborns.
State Minister in the Ministry of Health and Wellness Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn and President of the American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ), Wendy Hart, joined us on Sunrise to share more about the initiative.
