Singer, Songwriter and Poet Andy Livingston, a long time member of the music fraternity, has always expressed in interviews and to all who would listen that it is the writing that gives him the greatest satisfaction. It is therefore no surprise to those who know Andy that for the past few years he had taken a hiatus from the music to concentrate on his writing and poetic skills. The artiste in Andy was always destined to find its way to the top of his consciousness, and so in recent times he has returned to the studios to record a highly anticipated single ‘No Solution’
This product of East Kingston is a past entrant in the National Festival Music competition where he was third place runner up. Andy has also taken his craft to faraway places like Japan, Germany, England and the USA among other places, sharing stages with people like Gregory Isaacs, Luciano, Capleton and the like. Andy, leaning on his writing skills, which was developed while a student at Kingston College, has developed a unique way of including a poetry segment in the middle of any extended performance that he does.
The discovery of a certain level of comfort during these poetry performances has pushed Andy in the current direction, that of being a full fledged Poet while being fully Reggae Artiste. He has the unique ability to take an audience on a journey through many experiences in both music and poetry, and to connect in a special way on this journey. This talented writer has developed an anthology of poetic bombs along with songs rooted in social consciousness. Andy speaks his truth clearly and uncompromisingly and is ready to step onto the world stage with this arsenal that he has developed.
