The Ministry of Health and Wellness has dubbed July Healthcare Worker Appreciation Month, as we celebrate and recognize the hard work of all healthcare staff especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
July 1 marked the start of the inaugural observation of Healthcare Workers Appreciation Month, which is to be celebrated annually in the month of July. This year’s celebrations are specially geared at recognizing the sterling efforts of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The month-long observance will feature a series of events and activities at the parish, regional and national levels, including the observance of National Healthcare Workers Appreciation Day on Wednesday, July 13.
Director for the Emergency, Disaster Management and Special Services (EDMSS) Branch in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Dr. Nicole Dawkins-Wright shares her journey. Dr. Dawkins-Wright was appointed to head the EDMSS branch in 2018. The principal organising hub for any national health response, crisis or disaster.
