In celebration and remembrance of the life and work of Professor Rex Nettleford in the areas of culture, the arts, politics, trade unionism, or public sector management. His 90th birthday will be celebrated with a distinguished public lecture by Professor Orlando Patterson titled “The Past Has Not Passed: The Heritage of Slavery and Genocide in Jamaica” on Friday, February 3 at 3:00 p.m. Additionally, on February 8, there will be a special performance by the National Dance Theatre Company (NTDC). Classical singer Carole Reid will also be honoured at the event. Executive Director of the Rex Nettleford Foundation, Elizabeth Buchanan-Hind, shares more on Sunrise.
