International Day of Disabled Persons will be celebrated on December 3, and with help from the EU, Rise Life Management Services has launched a media campaign focused on all disabilities.
According to Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and World Health Organization(WHO), 2014 it is estimated that 15% of the world’s population has a disability. Globally, persons with disabilities tend to have poorer health status, lower levels of educational achievement, and limited access to economic opportunities including employment.
The ‘Enabling Opportunities For Persons With Disabilities’ project is set to last for two years with the main objective being to ensure persons with disabilities are fully integrated into society and have access to appropriate care, and support services, as well as treated as valuable human resources. The initiative is also geared toward raising awareness and combating stereotypes regarding persons with disabilities.
