On Sunday, July 9, the ten finalists who have been chosen for this year’s Jamaica Gospel Star Competition will take centerstage. The three finalists will compete against one another in a very intense sing-off from July 9 to July 23 over three consecutive weeks. Following the initial presentation show, the at-home audience’s call or text votes and the judges’ evaluations will each play a 50/50 role in determining whether a performer advances or is eliminated. A finalist who was eliminated from the tournament using the ‘Save By Grace’ feature may also be reinstated by the judges. Production Manager at Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), explains more in the interview below.
