The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) announce the start of the 2023 game bird shooting season, which opens on Saturday, 19 August 2023 and ends on Sunday, 24 September 2023. Hunters’ License may be obtained from NEPA and authorized vendors. The fee for the Hunters’ License is $25,000. All hunters must have a valid Firearms’ License or user’s permit and Hunters’ License on their persons when in the field shooting. Each breach under the Wildlife Protection Act will attract a fine up to one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) and/or twelve months imprisonment.
Hunters are required to submit their completed Hunter’s Bird Shooting Report Form on or before December 31, 2023. A late processing fee of $5,000 is applicable. No subsequent Hunters’ License will be granted until the requisite late processing fee is paid. Members of the public and bird hunters are hereby advised that the Wildlife (Declaration of Shooting Season) Order, 2023 is in force from August 19 to September 24, 2023. See interview:
